“Ten years ago, Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast and submerged most of New Orleans.”
Katrina was apocalyptic, killing more than 1,800 people across the Gulf Coast and causing $135 billion in damage.
It uprooted our families, homes, friends, church, and jobs etc. It impacted us physically, spiritually and emotionally. “IT WAS A TIME WE WILL NEVER FORGET!”
Once we saw the devastation in our city, our homes, our church, our groceries, our schools, our jobs it was horrific. You don’t know if you have faith until it is tested. And it was!
Though the storm changed our lives drastically and scattered us abroad, it never changed our faith and walk with God – We have Faith and are Resilient!
Through the years some may have wondered why? Why not? Adversity strengthens!
Each day the Lord pours out His unfailing love upon us, and praying to God gives us life and hope. And for that alone I am thankful!
Last week, my husband and I walked the streets of New Orleans so many memories some great, some not so great. God blessed our time as we worshiped and feast with family and friends.
What a joy to be home again! So much has changed. We were grateful, for a bitter sweet moment.
We are thankful, for now we can say we have two homes. (Louisiana/Virginia) We are thankful for all the people we’ve met along the way.
As we pick up the pieces and continue after 10 years to rebuild our lives; we are thankful for what the future holds, because we know who holds our future.
But most of all we are so thankful that God spared our lives through His grace and mercy that we live to tell our story.
With a thankful heart,
